THINGS TO DO IN INDIANAPOLIS

The Westin Indianapolis is located near some of the best things to do in Indianapolis. Home to some of the country's best sports and entertainment venues, there is something for everyone in Indy. Annual Indianapolis attractions include the Indianapolis 500, Brickyard 400, and MotoGP. Known as the "Amateur Sports Capital of the World," Indianapolis hosts some of the most prestigious events in the world each year.  Here are a few things of the things to do while visiting in Indianapolis. 

Lucas Oil Stadium

Known best as the home of the NFL's Indianapolis Colts, Lucas Oil Stadium is just one block from our Indianapolis hotel and is also is a major site for conventions, exhibitions, trade shows and NCAA basketball competition. The unique retractable roof makes it exceptionally flexible for both indoor and outdoor events. The roof can be opened or closed in approximately nine minutes.

Indianapolis Motor Speedway is the largest sports venue in America, with crowds of more than 250,000 in attendance at every race. There's still one three-foot wide section of bricks exposed on the racing surface at Indianapolis Motor Speedway - right at the start-finish line that the greatest drivers in the world now cross during the Indianapolis 500, the Brickyard 400 and the U.S. Grand Prix, the only Formula One world driving championship event held in the United States each year.

Victory Field

Considered by Sports Illustrated as the "Best Minor League Ballpark in America," Victory Field is home to the minor league Indianapolis Indians, the Triple-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates. The facility boasts many unique features including an open concourse that offers a great view of the playing field, festival-style lawn seating and angled outfield seats that hug the foul lines.
